It is with a heavy heart that I write this post! The Blissful Bookworm is one of the many knitted creations I’ve featured on my other blog, Knitting Nandu–and certainly one of my favorites. I proudly showed him off to a visiting guest, and was not careful about putting him out of Webby’s reach once the “show and tell” was over. I returned home to find my dear bookworm totally EVISCERATED…
As an avid reader, I was keen to make myself a little mascot: Meet the Blissful Bookworm (psst he has his own blog)!
He was knitted on circular needles, head first. Given his shape, he’s top heavy—so I put a large flat magnet in him to help him stay upright on metal surfaces.
Now, since he’s like me, he’s completely ruined his eyesight with too much reading in low light–so of course, he needed some glasses. His are fashioned from some simple black wire. He’s also sports a fashionable scarf for those chilly days that will be just around the corner.
Hopefully this post will also inspire you to curl up with a good book!
